Spring Detox Recipe #6 is here!! Looking to change up your breakfast routine? This recipe is SO flavourful, SO delicious, low-carb and full of clean and wholesome ingredients that will leave you feeling satisfied and nourished.
I like to serve this breakfast hash with ripe avocado and over easy eggs. You could also add poached or scrambled eggs, or omit the eggs completely and still have a delicious, grain-free breakfast!
What you will need:
- white onion
- thick cute bacon (organic + nitrate-free)
- bell pepper
- cauliflower
- kale
- smoked paprika
- sea salt
Bacon & Cauliflower Breakfast Hash
Ingredients
- 1 cup diced onion
- 5 pieces thick cut bacon (organic + nitrate-free)
- 2 cups chopped cauliflower
- 1/2 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 cup packed kale
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
Directions
- Step 1 Start by thinly slicing the bacon. Heat a medium-large sized frying pan on medium heat, sauté the bacon for 1-2 minutes (you shouldn’t need to use oil as the bacon has lots of fat). While the bacon is cooking, dice the onion then add to the frying pan. Sauté the onion and bacon together for about 3 minutes.
- Step 2 Dice the bell pepper and add it to the bacon and onions. Sauté for 5 minutes, then add the chopped cauliflower (small pieces) and sauté for an additional 5 minutes.
- Step 3 Once the cauliflower is at the desired tenderness, add the chopped kale to the frying pan and cook until it has wilted. Add the sea salt and smoked paprika and sauté for another minute. Add avocado and fried, poached or scrambled eggs to the dish! Enjoy!
