If your looking for THE BEST dairy-free pesto recipe, look no further! You definitely don’t need to be dairy-free to enjoy this pesto, it is so full of flavour, so easy to make and so darn delicious. This recipe is made with clean, simple ingredients and can be whipped up within a matter of minutes!
What you will need:
- fresh basil
- walnuts
- fresh garlic
- nutritional yeast
- olive oil
- sea salt
- lemon
How to use this pesto:
- serve it with your favourite type of pasta with sautéed mushrooms, spinach and chicken.
- cook it with roasted salmon.
- mix with mayonnaise for the best pesto aioli, serve with sweet potato wedges.
- use as a glaze on boil or roasted potatoes.
- use on your next homemade pizza instead of tomato sauce.
- mix in with ground chicken or turkey meat to make delicious burger patties or meatballs.
- slather it onto a fresh piece of bread (or a grilled cheese).
- top it on your next breakfast bowl.

Walnut Basil Pesto
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh basil
- 1 cup walnuts
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- fresh squeeze of lemon
Directions
- Step 1 Add the fresh basil, walnuts and garlic to the food processor. Briefly pulse until the ingredients are finely chopped.
- Step 2 Now add in the remaining ingredients (sea salt, nutritional yeast, olive oil and lemon). Pulse until these ingredients are well combined.
- Step 3 Serve with your favourite pasta, chicken or pizza, enjoy!
